Maxlife is good stuff, and it seems to be working fine with no problems. You're out-of-warranty, so you don't need a licensed Mercon LV fluid, but if you still want one, they are easy to obtain. I remember reading somewhere that there were no additive packs in Mercon LV, and the specs seem awefully close. The fluid in the truck now is made by Global.
